Walk the talk: how to market for a sustainable business model

We've stumbled across this great presentation by Joakim Vars Nilsen, a digital strategist at Media Front. It's an inspiring presentation that talks about the need for brands to be generating a pulse, constantly.

What this presentation best says is that the idea of pushing out big broadcast messages intermittently throughout the year needs to be abolished, and we need to move towards continuously engaging consumers 365 days in the year... and that digital channels such as mobile and social media are the perfect complement (when integrated in the right way) to all traditional advertising and marketing to continuously engage consumers - "It's not one or the other. It's about combining both in the right way."

The presentation also stipulates that people still want and need brands, but only those that focus on creating relationships and helping customers get more out of the products and services they own, and that we need to go from persuading consumers to purchase to creating something so valuable that consumers not only like your brand but they like buying your brand. Key point: marketing needs to become more socialised, constant and focused on shared interactions.

Anyway, check it out for yourself...
