Txt4Info grabs awards finalist spot
Auckland, 4 July 2008
Providing consumers with the means to talk to brands the way they want to is proving a winning business for trans-Tasman interactive marketing solutions company Touchpoint.
The company’s Txt4Info product, which allows advertisers to offer their customers a text response option to mainstream advertising, has made the finals of the 2008 TVNZ/NZ Marketing Magazine Awards.
The awards recognise excellence in strategic and tactical marketing and finalists are chosen for their market understanding, communication strategy execution and application to a targeted audience.
A business-to-business category finalist, Touchpoint’s Txt4Info lets consumers request information, brochures, coupons and samples simply by texting a keyword from their mobile phones. The requested information is then sent by email, post, text or return call.
Touchpoint director client services Mark Johnston said consumers are conditioned to respond to advertising, but are often asked to do too much and remain inert. "Hurdles like waiting in call centre queues, having to talk to a potential salesperson or remembering the website address until you are next on the computer, mean advertisers lose all but the most committed consumers," he said. "Txt4Info lets consumers instantly interact with brands that interest them, by offering a tool that provides total control."
A complete list of finalists will be published in the July issue of NZ Marketing Magazine, with award winners announced at a gala function at the Skycity Convention Centre, 31 July.
