Kea Scoops Excellence Awards
Digital platform helps global talent organisation scoop business excellence award
Auckland, June 2007
New Zealand's global talent networking organisation Kea has been named the Supreme Winner at the 2007 Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards, spotlighting a successful case study of using technology as the business axis to successfully engage an international community.
Kea, who in March 2006 conducted the first global census of expatriate New Zealanders, called Every One Counts, also took out the High Growth Sector category.
The organisation in 2004 appointed Touchpoint to deliver integrated campaign management technologies to connect community members, largely through the web, email and peer-to-peer forums.
Touchpoint managing director Steve Shearman said Kea showcased the power of the internet and digital communications to connect people, organisations and opportunities. "Kea's approach to leveraging a network is a useful blueprint for many of today's businesses."
Kea chief executive Ross McConnell said technology plays a leading role in keeping expatriate Kiwis connected to their home country. "Web-based delivery is the only sensible approach. If you can't find them, they've got to be able to find you."
